Carrie Collins, Founder & Instructor

A long-time student of yoga, dance, healing arts, Native American and shamanic teachings, Carrie has combined her many passions to offer a sacred journey of remembrance for all who feel called to the path.  Carrie helps others awaken to their highest potential and reunite with their primal nature through yoga, dance, song and ceremony.  Her offerings include: Massage and Energy Healing,  Primal Fusion Flow Yoga, Dance Meditation Technique, ceremony and sound healing, holistic healing immersions and a unique 200 Hr. Yoga Alliance accredited yoga teacher training at One Tribe studio in Brooklyn, Mi. and in many beautiful destinations around the globe. Vanessa Paz Malson, Manager & Instructor

Vanessa began her soul calling journey right here when One Tribe Yoga, formerly Bhakti Yoga, began. She followed her heart's lead and dove into a heart-felt, light-filled awakening. Achieving her RYT 200 certification in August 2015, she quickly began spreading what she learned to the tribe. You will find Vanessa's classes full of heart activation, deliberate intention setting, and gentle vinyasa. When she's not on her mat, Vanessa enjoys tending to her garden, expressing herself through art, writing and dance, and nature walks with her husband and puppy. 


Abby Dawson, Instructor

Abby thrives on bringing creativity into all facets of life, forming deep connections and spreading self-empowerment.  Abby's yoga is energizing yet grounding and may cause a shift in perspective. Approaching alignment in a heart-centered way, she teaches yoga to many populations including PWID (people with intellectual disabilities), those who require significant modifications, beginners, acro yogis and yoga for partners. Primal Fusion Flow, a journey allowing yogis to embrace their true, primal self and Partner Yoga are her favorite classes to teach. Abby is a student of Reiki, sound healing, Native American teachings, Fine Art, plant based nutrition and meditation. She is also a facilitator of Dance Meditation Technique.

Heather Herrera, Instructor

Heather is a frequent student and RYT 200 graduate of One Tribe Yoga’s Sacred Journey. It was her Intro to Yoga class One Tribe that started her on her journey to becoming a teacher, and the studio’s Kundalini offerings that sparked her intense interest in the science, psychology, spirituality of the practice. Heather now offers a well- rounded, all-level experience, peppered with yoga education, meditation, and time for personal reflection. She also offers kids’ yoga, accompanied by her 4-year-old daughter, and a variety of intuition-building, intention manifestation, and life coaching workshops. When she’s not at the studio, she spends time with family, traveling, making art, writing—both creatively and professionally—and creating apparel, accessories, and housewares for her two home based businesses. Heather is passionate about studying the nuances of the human condition, speaking out in favor of social justice, and helping others to be happy in recognition of their divine excellence.

Jennifer Phenicie, Instructor

Jen began her yoga journey around 10 years ago. From there she practiced on and off at different studios until finding her home at One Tribe Yoga.  In August of 2015, Jen completed her 200 YTT with One Tribe. Her classes tend to be slower paced with hands on adjustments that concentrate on clearing away distractions and feeling comfortable with the quieting of the mind and body to allow for deeper release. When not teaching, Jen can be found traveling, trying and making different foods, soaking up the sun at a beach or at home enjoying a book with some kitty snuggles.

Julie Hawthorne, Instructor

Julie began her Soul Calling training three years ago, during her senior year of high school. During that Soul Calling she experienced first-hand how yoga can foster self-expression, physical, mental, and emotional health, and is inspired to share that through teaching. Her classes are a balance of breath and core work and the Ayurvedic practice of abhyanga.
